2. The blue armor piece is minor, purple is major and gold is superior, am I right?

No, that is not right. Purple can be minor, too and gold can be major. I'm not sure, but I think purple can also be superior.

No. I'm sure Blane is right. If you go to buy a rune. All the minors are blue. All the majors are purple. And all the superiors are gold.

ok heres how it works minor will always come from blue armor
majors and minors come from purple armor
majors and superiors will come from gold armor

most people usually id armor to find out and unlock runes

but if you use an expert or superior salvage kit you can figure out the profession and quality of the rune by it aprreance with out iding it and unlocking it for pvp.
an absorption rune will look like any other warrior rune.
a Vigor rune will just say rune and has a a unique look to it and can always be easily identifed since there are no other generic runes out there

Yeah, Im talking about the color of armour.
Thanks for the input , Mucenik and everyone else.
About guessing what profession an unid rune is for, I'm still confused. Can I say "an armour dropped from warrior mob will unlock/salvage warrior rune"?
If anyone has a pic of unid sup vigor/absorption, please show it to me.

The vigor rune has a pitchfork symbol on it, kinda like a 3 turned 90 degrees clockwise. Absorption has no special rune.

They also have a tint of the classes color.

Pink/purple - mesmer
Red - elementalist
Blue - monk
Light Green - ranger
Dark Green - necromancer
Yellow - warrior

Remember this color is the rune, not the presalvage armor.

If you want to make sure about the icon, just go to the Rune Trader and look at the icons for the Runes of the different professions.

AHA, I understand now. Thanks for that. Next time I get a gold armour/robes/etc drop, I'll salvage first. Then I'll be able to find out if it's worth anything

I think its more of a random thing. Ive fought for example some warriors and I got a rune thats totally not of Warriors. Like inspiration based runes or elemntalist based runes. So I guess its kind of slightly a random thing. Or maybe I didnt pay attention and I got the armor from a mesmer and got therefore mesmer runes.

Amei Leng - after one of the latest updates all minor's are blue, major's are pruple and superior's are gold. This coloring applies to runes bought off the rune Trader and after expert salvaging them from armor drops.

However if you have any runes on your characters or in storage from before the update, they will all be blue since all runes before this particular update were blue.

I don't doubt you have blue major's as I have blue superior runes
